Introduction to Unity: This workshop is designed to teach the basics of the Unity language system which speaks words, phrases and sentences via Minspeak icons. The goal is to generate spontaneous, novel utterances with little or no spelling needed. This course is appropriate for anyone teaching the Unity language system on any PRC device.
Introduction to Vanguard / Vantage: This workshop is designed to teach basic programming of the Vanguard and Vantage including storing vocabulary words, creating/modifying/linking activity rows and pages, and accessing a computer.
Introduction to Pathfinder: This workshop is designed to teach basic programming of the Pathfinder, including storing new vocabulary, creating/modifying/linking activities and pages, accessing a computer and working in notebooks.
Introduction to Springboard: This workshop is designed to teach basic programming of the Springboard including recording and storing new vocabulary, creating/modifying/linking pages and activities and looking at language options.
Advanced Functions: This workshop will look at many of the advanced functions that are now available on all of our products including: importing digital images and WAV files, accessing the computer, utilizing notebooks(not available on Springboard), using the Language Activity Monitor (LAM), storing IR commands, and using the MP3 player. We will also explore wireless phone options available on the Pathfinder, Vanguard and Vantage.
Implementation / Make & Take: You know the basics and now are ready for the next step
.teaching a client how to use it. This is the class for you. Implementation and Therapy strategies will be explored for AAC in general. The afternoon will be spent with a guided Make and Take where the participants will leave with some wonderful materials made with our new PASS software.
Introduction to PASS software: This course explores the power of the new PASS software now included with all devices. Learn how to modify devices without taking them away from the client, creating therapy materials, manual boards, vocabulary lists etc.
The Unity of IntelliTools & PRC: This course looks at the new activity rows included in all of our products that allow the device to control the IntelliTools Classroom Suite software. Come see it in action with our new plug and play computer emulation feature built into all devices. We will learn, hands on, some interesting ways to support devices and curriculum standards using these tools.
Introduction to ECO 14
This course will provide a thorough understanding of the ECO-14. Participants will be introduced to the hardware features, learn how to store vocabulary, customize vocabulary, create and modify activity rows, review the onscreen toolbox to include the function of tools, navigate in menus and be given instructional strategies and techniques. Participants will also be introduced to and explore the paradigms of Minspeak and Unity. Participant will need to bring an ECO-14 or Laptop computer running Windows. AAC and Autism: An Introduction to LAMP
This is a three-hour seminar on alternative strategies for promoting the development of communication for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders. LAMP (Language Acquisition through Motor Planning) is a new approach for using AAC with children with autism. The specific LAMP strategies maintain the goal of spontaneous, expressive communication through language learning. Participants will learn the basics of the approach, view video examples, and explore strategies that can be incorporated immediately into current communication approaches for children and adults with autism.
No device or computer is needed for this seminar. There is no cost to attend. Seating is limited, all are welcome.
